“If you take the right people, ignite their passion to change themselves and their company, then we can transform the way industries work in Karnataka and other regions of our country. I believe that Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are vital in maintaining an appreciable growth rate in our economy and are the backbone of the financial system. Their contribution to the Indian economy has been phenomenal, with generating employment, fostering equitable economic development, containing regional disparities, and enhancing the export potential of the country.
It is vital to address the skill gap in this sector as the MSMEs play a major role in catalyzing the country’s socio-economic transformation. The skill-building starts with relevant training programs for the MSME leaders (business owners), their key team members (managers & supervisors) and employees (blue collared associates)
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) took the initiative, and with the support of Bosch, Unbox helped us conceptualize and implement this program. Electronics City Industries’ Association (ELCIA) helped us connect to MSMEs for this specialized training, called SAMRIDHI. The combination of SAMRIDHI’s well-defined training along with the exposure to industry best practices, increase the preparedness of the MSMEs to meet their client’s demands on quality, speed, cost control and people management that lead to an increased profitability. I believe SAMRIDHI will become a model program of development not only in Karnataka but across India. “
SAMRIDHI is a Management Development Program (MDP) customised for managers and supervisors of the MSMEs. The duration of the entire engagement is three-months, with the key objective of the program being the provision of specialised training to develop skills such as, time management, taking ownership and building high performing teams within their departments.
On registration, the participants will be provided with customised ‘SAMRIDHI KIT’, containing the course material such as -
In Phase 1, participants are taken through a two-day intensive classroom program which covers 8 modules. These modules help the participants to gain clarity about their roles and responsibilities in their respective organizations. They learn management techniques that are globally acclaimed, in order to manage their tasks, work methods, and priorities. At the end of the program, each participant uses the action plan booklet of the custom-made SAMRIDHI KIT, to capture the projects that they will be implementing at their workplace.
The 8 modules are as follows
In phase 2, the participants receive one-on-one coaching at their workplace, to support the transfer of learning to their every day activities / work routines. Internationally certified coaches visit, review and guide the participants on overcoming the challenges faced while implementing the projects captured during the action plan.
In Phase 3, the participants undergo a refresher program which is based on the observations made during the one-on-one coaching, where the 8 modules are entirely reiterated. The participants share their experiences of applying what they learnt in their projects. This builds a stronger cohort group that mutually supports one another.
In Phase 4, the participants share their respective projects’ success stories while industry leaders monitor and share their experience as well. The skill gap in the MSMEs sector is filled through the SAMRIDHI training program for MSMEs leaders (business owners), their key team members (managers & supervisors) and other employees (blue collared associates).
The first SAMRIDHI batch was conducted for MSMEs companies in Electronics City Industries’ Association (ELCIA), Bangalore. 25 participants representing 7 different organisations under ELCIA banner were trained. Till date 3 batches of SAMRIDHI have been successfully completed with participants from 9 organizations.
SAMRIDHI’s well-defined training combined with the exposure to industry-best practices increase MSMEs’ preparedness for meeting their client demands on quality, speed, cost control and people management which leads to increased profitability.
